"Wewe Ndo Mwenye Boma? Nimekujia Nyumba Yako Na Nitakupea Nyumba Mzuri " - Ruto Surprises Desperate Mathare Family Living In Kanjo Home, Promises New Home

President William Ruto made a surprise visit to a family living in the Kanjo houses of Mathare.

The visit took place while he was assessing the flooding in the area.

During his visit, Ruto entered the humble home of a family residing in the city council houses, commonly referred to as Kanjo houses.

These homes are known for their substandard living conditions, often providing only the bare minimum for families.

In a heartwarming interaction captured on video, Ruto engaged the head of the household in a casual conversation. He displayed genuine curiosity about the layout and condition of the dwelling, asking about the location of various rooms with a jovial tone.

"Wewe ndo mwenye boma? Nimekujia nyumba yako nitakupea nyumba mzuri," Ruto remarked, expressing his intention to provide the family with a better and more decent home.

Ruto assured the family of his commitment to improving their living conditions. He promised them a comfortable home where they could properly care for their children, stating, "I want to give you a nice house so you can care for your children properly. This house is not up to standard."

This visit comes as part of the government's broader initiative to provide affordable housing solutions to Kenyans across various regions.

The affordable housing program aims to address the housing needs of low and middle-income families, ensuring they have access to quality and cost-effective homes.

In January, the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development announced an initiative inviting Kenyans to purchase affordable houses in Bondeni, Nakuru County.

These residences consist of two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, priced at KSh 3.15 million and KSh 4.25 million, respectively. This initiative is part of the government's plan to offer more housing opportunities to those in need.

President Ruto's visit to Mathare and his personal commitment to the family he visited emphasize the importance of the affordable housing program.

By promising 20,000 new homes in the area, Ruto's administration aims to replace the current inadequate housing with better and more dignified living conditions.

The government's efforts to improve housing are crucial for enhancing the quality of life for many Kenyans. As these initiatives continue to unfold, families like the one Ruto visited can look forward to a future with better housing, providing a stronger foundation for their children and communities.
