Ugandan Shamba Boy Who Brutally Murdered His Employer In Kirinyaga Flee From Lawful Custody Weeks after Arrest In Nakuru. This How He Varnished

Ugandan shamba boy accused of murder managed to escape from Kiamaciri Police Station in Kirinyaga.

The suspect, identified as Phillipino Muifi, was detained after being accused of killing his employer, 64-year-old Rose Muthoni Kariuki, on November 2, 2023.

Muifi’s escape from police custody has left the victim's family and the local community in disbelief and anger.

Despite efforts by the police to secure the suspect following his arrest on May 18, 2024, in Nakuru, he managed to flee alongside another detainee who had allegedly committed a separate crime.

The daughter of the deceased, Calorine Wangui, expressed her shock and frustration upon learning of Muifi’s escape.

She had been eagerly awaiting justice for her mother and had even personally funded efforts to bring the suspect to Kenya from Uganda.

Adding to the dismay is the fact that this isn’t the first time the Kiamaciri Police Station has been embroiled in controversy.

Kirinyaga Senator James Kamau Murango demanded an explanation from the Interior Ministry, highlighting previous instances of misconduct at the station.

The escape has raised questions about the security protocols in place at the police station.

Residents and relatives of the victim are demanding answers as to how such a critical lapse in security could occur, allowing a murder suspect to flee from custody.

Two police officers who were on duty during Muifi’s escape have been arrested.
